Basic GMAT Commentary On This Integrated Reasoning Scatter Plot Chart Question
This graph displays data between annual income and the number of years of education for a company called Genearl Depot. Only 19 data points were taken. Data is plotted for males (shown in blue circles) and females (shown in white triangles).
Note that not all graphs start with (0,0) on the bottom left corner. In this case, you can imagine the graph zooming in to the relevant data points to get a bigger picture sense of the data presented.
With scatterplot integrated reasoning questions like these, you can come into the question already with a sense of things to keep in mind - correlation, regression lines, deviations, etc. In other words, ask yourself if there is a solid relationship between the x and y axis? Is there a solid relationship between annual income at General Depot and the number of years of formal education?
